When you hear the term “memory quilt”, what comes to mind? The answer is different for everyone. By definition, a memory quilt is a quilt designed specifically to commemorate the life of a loved one. We like to say that our quilts are “storytellers”. There are several different types of memory quilts. Some of the most common include:

• T-shirt Quilt
• Jersey Quilt (Hockey Jersey Quilt)
• Baby Clothes Quilt
• Signature Quilt (quilt blocks are pre-made for people to write personal messages)
• Photo Quilt
• Memorial Quilt (where a quilt is made from the clothing of a loved one who has passed this life)

In our area, less common examples include:
• Ribbon Quilt
• Necktie Quilt
• Cross Stitch Quilt

Memory quilts can often be a combination of the above. For instance, a customer may want to add a few photos to his/her T-shirt quilt.

Memory quilts can be sewn for use as a throw or designed to be a wall-hanging. Truly the draw for us is in the memories—memories evoke emotion and our quilts touch people’s lives. We love that each of our quilts are one-of-a-kind.

Memory quilts often celebrate an occasion or milestone, such as:

• Birthdays
• Weddings
• Graduation
• Retirement
• Sport History
• Family Trips
• Family Memories
• His/Hers
• Baby/Toddler Years
• Family Heirloom
